Chantal DARTOIS, nda

Sr. Chantal is from Rennes, France. She trained as a nurse and work for few years before joining the Sisters of Our Lady of Apostles. She took her first vows in 1967 and for a year committed herself to providing home care to less fortunate including poor families and migrants of the populated district of Venissieux, Lyon, France. In 1968 Sr. Chantal is sent to Egypt where she served as nurse, French teacher and appointed in-charged of young sisters from the year of her arrival till 1983. Sr. Chantal successively also served as provincial councilor, personal assistant to the general superior and general superior in a period of five years. She now works as missionary in Algeria. Speaking about her mission in Egypt and Arab world, she said, “Egypt remains in my heart as a ‘first time love’. It will take a while to talk about it! I love and do feel comfortable in the Arab and Muslim world where our presence and closeness to people is so fulfilling and I thank God and my congregation for asking me to serve in this new mission at the service of the Algerian people, our communities and the diocese of Oran.” Sr. Chantal will deal with the issue of
